Sigrun & Chris Brazier ( plus 4 offspring: Marek , Mischka , Saskia and Samira ) have finally arrived at the Tanners.
We would firstly like to thank Angie & Peter Black for allowing us to acquire their beautiful pub. As all the regulars know the Tanners is the best in the area !
We have also been extremely fortunate to inherit a hard working and well trained team. Hopefully customers will hardly notice that Angie & Peter have retired !
The Brazier family started its pub career in 1961 at the Turks Head in St. Margarets, Twickenham. Under the inspired leadership of Fred & Edna, the 'Turks' gained a great reputation for fine food and great wines. Being very near to Twickenham Film Studios helped us to garner a reputation because many top stars used to eat there.
We became tenants at the Turks Head in 1980 and left in 1999 when the Fullers Board decided that a manager would serve them better.
From 2000 to 2006, we were lessees of the Europa Public House in East Molesey, Surrey.
We made many friends there but the lure of owning a Free House was too strong !
Our intentions for the Tanners are simply to try and emulate the very high standards set by Angie & Peter. The menu will remain largely the same and the emphasis
on real ales will be maintained.
We realise that just keeping things the same will involve a huge amount of hard work. However the compensations are that the pub is in a beautiful area with a tremendous number of friendly and loyal regulars.
Here is to to you all and thank you to all those customers whom we have already met
and who have made us most welcome !
Sigrun and Chris
